Family Note

Marinate the ribs overnight when there is time. The flavor gets deeper and the meat stays tender.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds flanken-cut short ribs
  • 1/2 cup shoyu
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Directions

  1. Mix shoyu, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and green onions.
  2. Add short ribs and marinate at least 30 minutes, or overnight.
  3. Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook ribs 3 to 4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through.
  5. Rest briefly, then serve with rice and vegetables.
